Head of Rail (RACE), Deswik – Jon Jensen is a distinguished leader in transportation technology with over 26 years of experience and a deep family legacy in the rail industry. His career began at Union Pacific Railroad, where he dedicated 24 years to shaping commercial technology strategy and fostering key partnerships across North America’s Class 1 and short line railroads. Following his time at Union Pacific, Jon joined the Seattle-based startup Cedar AI, where he played a pivotal role in integrating artificial intelligence into rail operations, significantly enhancing efficiency in terminals and yards.
In 2025, Jon made a career-defining move, joining Deswik to bring their supply chain optimization technology to North America. What attracted him to Deswik was the opportunity to implement comprehensive, coordinated solutions that address the entire bulk commodity supply chain—from mine to rail to port. This shift allowed him to move beyond siloed technologies and create a more integrated and impactful approach. His passion for Deswik’s vision is driven by its collaborative culture and commitment to innovation, a choice he describes as “something I couldn’t walk away from.”
