Executive Director, CDRA – Andrea Johnson became passionate about recycling during the 23 years she traveled the globe as a military wife. When her husband retired in 2012 they settled in Charlottesville, Virginia where she would spend the next 12 years working for van der Linde Recycling, a C&D MRF, the last five of which she served as CEO. While CEO, she helped to transform the facility and in 2022 they became the 22nd facility and the 2nd in Virginia to receive certification with the Recycling Certification Institute (RCI). In February of 2025, she accepted a position as the COO with the CDRA to work on the diversion of construction and demolition debris at a National level. In July of 2025 she was promoted to Executive Director of the CDRA. She is a licensed Waste and Recycling Facility Operator in Virginia.
