Founder/President, Rocket Start – Manny Tejano has over 15 years experience in IT and leadership positions in the construction materials industry. During his time at Sunrock Industries, he incorporated modern management approaches to the concrete division, including changes to dispatching practices, utilization of drivecams to provide increased feedback and training for drivers, usage of social/traditional media channels for hiring, and creative incentivizing for drivers. This contributed to a 6-point margin improvement over two years. Applying his computer engineering background and passion to motivate the workforce, Manny has evolved his employee engagement program into a software platform called Rocket Start in 2020, and has helped concrete producers across North America implement a gamified workforce solution for over a thousand drivers since.
In order to generate interest among future generations of concrete workers, he’s also created Concrete Quest – an online education platform for high school students to learn about basic concrete principles, sustainability, and careers through a fun, gamified experience rewarding top scorers with gift cards.
