The founding vendors and producers of AggNexus believe that it is vital for all of us to give back to the communities that we serve. As leaders in the the aggregates, concrete, and cement industries, we go to work daily to help build the world around us; and every day we should strive to make that world jusst a little bit better.
This year, we have chosen two charities that embody that concept, and we hope that you will join us in embracing the important work that they are doing both in Austin and throughout the world.
The first is a great local charity, The Austin Lighthouse. The Austin Lighthouse has served the blind and visually impaired (BVI) community for more than 90 years. They perform logistics and contract manufacturing, for the US military, among others.
In order to fulfill this mission, the Lighthouse employs over 250 BVI individuals, to run 900K SQ FT of warehouse space. The Austin Lighthouse also provides mobility, career counseling, and technology training services for the greater Austin BVI community.
The Global Community for Education is our other charity that is building schools and provides other education services to impoverished or war-torn communities around the world.
